Different methods of consumptions will affect your experience.
There are two different methods of inhalation, smoking and vaporizing. Both will deliver a rapid onset with similar effects. The basics behind these two methods involve heating the cannabis so that the THC cannabinoids are absorbed directly into the bloodstream through the lungs.
Ingesting cannabis will produce the strongest and most psychoactive effects than any of the other delivery systems. Edible cannabis products will take anywhere from 30 mins to 2 hours to feel the full effect. Because of this, it is highly recommended that you pace yourself allowing ample time before you consume more product if you are not feeling the full effects.
This method is traditionally done using a tincture by placing a few drops of the product in your mouth. It can be done under the tongue (sublingual), on the tongue, or anywhere inside the mouth. Sublingual is the fastest method, with effects being felt anywhere between 10 mins to 60 mins. Lozenges and breath strips are also commonly used for this method.
This method is more commonly used to provide localized pain relief. The cannabinoids react with receptors under the skin but usually do not reach the bloodstream. Because of this, most topical medical cannabis products do not provide psychoactive effects. Common topical products are lotions, balms, patches, and creams.
